Full Names: Robert William Briggs and Colin Reed Briggs

How young are you guys: 37 and 12
How long have you been CrossFitting?
Rob on and off since 2013 and Colin since 2013
Rob, we know you started first, what brought you to CrossFit Inland Valley?
Close to the house initially stopped by but after the orientation workout I knew I felt at home.
Colin, how did your Dad convince you to start taking classes with him?
He promised me a computer to game with if I was committed and showing improvement for more than 6 months.
What's your athletic/fitness background?
Rob: I was a runner but I joined the Volunteer fire department in NY where we lived and needed to improve my fitness level and knew crossfit was a great fit for me.
Colin, do you also play any sports in school? If so, do you think CrossFit helps you in any way with other sports?
I play baseball, football and do cross country. Yes it helps my endurance and agility
What's your favorite thing about CrossFit Inland Valley?
It's a family. People are always encouraging us and are happy to see us.
What’s your favorite WOD?
Rob: I loved the "thanksgiving workout"
Colin:" tabata be kidding me"
What’s your favorite movement or lift?
Rob: back squat
Colin: dead lift
What’s your most feared WOD?
Rob and Colin: FRAN
Are you both competitive with each other during the WODs?
Not really, but we both encourage each other to finish and do the movements correctly.
How’s your diet/nutrition?
We both eat like a 12 year old boy....
What’s your favorite “cheat meal”?
Every meal right now is a cheat meal, but the plan is for that to change starting December 26.
What do you like to do on your time off?
Rob: watch sports and hang out with Colin.
Colin: hang out with my friends and play video games.
What’s your favorite type of music to WOD?
Rob: heavy metal.
Colin: Classic Rock
What’s your fitness goal? What would you like to accomplish with CrossFit?
Rob: leaner stronger, be able to compete at a intermediate level and do competitions with Colin as my partner.
Colin: 200lb deadlift and strict pull ups and ready myself for my sports each season.
Do you have any advice to a new member trying CrossFit for the first time?
Rob: have fun, get through the first month. That's when you start to see real progress.
Colin: don't compare yourself to others. Compete with yourself. Push your limits so you know what they are.
Do you have a CrossFit story to share with us? Something that happened during a WOD or a class that you will always remember?
Rob: watching Colin run those last laps or do those last reps with others in the gym. It always makes me proud.
Colin: I like to finish and help others finish. No particular time just whenever I can help others or cheer them on.
Rob and Colin, it's been such a great pleasure to have you both as part of our CFIV Family! Colin, thank you for running with the last members to finish the WOD, that is really nice of you and gives them that extra "push" to finish so they can feel the accomplishment.
You will both be competing on a higher level together very soon, we can see how much you have improved! Keep it up and have an amazing 2016!!!!
