What brought you to CrossFit Inland Valley?
Before we moved here I had the opportunity to try Crossfit in Georgia. After moving here, I decided to attend this gym because I fell in love with the family environment and because it’s close to my house.
What’s your athletic/fitness background?
I used to play social tennis until I tore my ACL. ☹
What’s your favorite WOD?
Any one that doesn’t make me sick .
What’s your favorite movement or lift?
Push-press and power-clean.
What’s your most feared WOD?
Many, but Fight Gone Bad was pretty bad..
A little bird told me your entire family works out. In fact, not only your son works out with you, but you also have a daughter who’s also a Crossfitter at a different box, correct? Are you and your daughter very competitive?
We are, granted I’m not as competitive as I used to be. My daughter still remains competitive
How’s your diet/nutrition?
Not too good, I try to stay away from carbs, but I love them too much with poor discipline to avoid them.
What’s your favorite “cheat meal”?
I have many, but pasta is my favorite
What do you like to do on your time off?
I paint and have just started doing ceramics
What’s your fitness goal? What would you like to accomplish with CrossFit?
Maintain my general health, mostly
Do you have any advice to a new member trying CrossFit for the first time?
Stick with it, even if you feel like you cant do it. Soon you’ll start to love it. If I, in my late 50s can do it, anyone can
Do you have a CrossFit story to share with us? Something that happened during a WOD or a class that you will always remember?
Yes, I remember the first time I fell doing box-jumps and tore open my shin, having to get stiches. 3 months later I fell again and tore open the other leg,.☹
