KRISTY MCKEEHAN

June 1, 2017

I don't even know what to say about this girl... Let's just say she is what we call a HUGE part of our Family... She definitely puts in the work and effort, even when she's not here. Her 2 boys love Fit Kids and it's really cool to watch them working out together.

Kristy, the results are showing big time and we are all very, very proud of you. Keep up the great work!!!!

Do you have a nickname?

KK, KP, K and my family calls me bug (don't know why)

Tell us a little about yourself:

I'm a stay at home, homeschooling momma of two boys. We love wake surfing, bike riding, going to the beach and river, love camping and traveling.

When did you start “CrossFitting”?

I started in 2014 and love it a little more everyday.

Did you play any sports or did you workout before you started CrossFit?

I played softball from 6 years old until high school. I played volleyball and basketball but softball was always my 1st love.

Why CrossFit Inland Valley?

I checked out a few places online and stalked them on Instagram. Inland Valley was close and seemed to fit me best. I was pretty unhealthy at the time and wanted to make a positive change in my life physically and mentally. I wanted to be able to keep up with my husband and my 2 boys.

What makes you keep coming back?

I love the challenge and the variety. I love doing something different everyday and constantly pushing myself out of my comfort zone. Also the friends that I have made at CFIV, these girls have become my best friends and help hold me accountable.

What’s your favorite WOD or movement?

I love prowler pushes, tire strikes, and any barbell movement. Oh and don't tell anyone but I actually like rowing. I love the really long WOD's like Filthy 50, Murph, anything that really pushes me to the point where I don't think I will finish.

What’s your least favorite WOD or movement?

I hate running, and thrusters!!!

What’s your most recent PR and what’s your main goal?

My most recent PR was one strict pull up. I know it doesn't seem like a lot but that has been a goal of mine since I first started crossfit. My main goal when I first started Crossfit was to become healthy and strong. I wanted to be able to pull myself up wake boarding, keep up with my husband snowboarding, and I wanted my boys to have an active mom. I also really wanted to loose weight because having babies totally changed my body.

What do you have to say to someone thinking about trying CrossFit for the first time?

Please do it, it will change your life. I remember walking in for my 1st class and I was so intimidated and scared, but everyone was so friendly and supportive. It can be scaled to fit your needs so you don't need to be "fit" to start. I was so unfit when I started.

What’s your favorite kind of music to workout to?

I love working out to anything that makes me want to dance in-between movements. I love looking at the rest of the class doing their dorky dances and having fun. A lot of times during the WOD I don't even hear the music because Im busy counting and telling myself not to quit. haha.

Would you like to add anything else?

I wanted to thank all the coaches, staff, and athletes at CFIV for constantly pushing me, helping me with my form and movements, and making working out so much fun.
