We barely ever see Tim because he is one of those "crazy" ones that takes the 5:30am class every morning. But I do know one thing, he is there, every morning pretty much, putting his time and effort, and the few times a year we get to see him, we can see the progression, the results. He is getting better and better every day! Keep up the great work, Tim! We are proud of you and we are happy to have you as part of our CFIV Family!

 

 

1) Name or Nickname:

"GOOGLE" - I know it is a very strange nickname but it was given to me by my fellow F3  buddies back in Charlotte, NC where I moved from last summer.  F3 is men's workout group back on the east coast that has a mission is to invigorate male community leadership through small workout groups.   Every guy that shows up for a workout is given a nickname. Typically someone is brought to the workout by a friend and a nickname is given to them based on where they grew up, went to college or profession. Well, I was crazy enough to show up by myself and the first thing one of the guys asked me was how did I hear about the group. My first response was "Google". So since no one knew anything about me, they went with Google. 

 

2) What are your hobbies?

I grew up in Bishop so I grew up fishing and snowboarding in the Eastern Sierra's so I try to take the family and head up any chance I can.

 

3) What brought you to CFIV?

After many years of F3 boot camp style workouts and then my recent  move back to California, I needed to fill the void that leaving F3 would create. I needed something that was group style and that had similar like-minded people that would help push and keep me accountable. I have watched CrossFit grow from afar over the years and was always curious so I decided to give Crossfit a try. I visited several Box's in the area and CFIV was extremely welcoming. The family vibe, class times and open atmosphere were all draws. After my first introductory workout, I was hooked!

 

4) What makes you keep coming back?

The gains! It all about the GAINS!! Oh ya, and my 5:30 AM family and coaches. Special shout out to Coach Carrie (aka.Mighty Mouse)!

 

5) What’s your favorite WOD or movement?

Being a veteran I have a deep respect for any of the HERO WODS such as MURPH. I also love any of the WODS that give a 5-mintue break such as "Power Outage", love those!

 

6) What’s your least favorite WOD or movement?

This one is easy. My nemesis = Overhead Squats. 

 

7) Have you set any CrossFit goals?

If so, could you share it with us?  Nothing specific. Just keep showing up and getting better. 

 

8) Did you workout or play any sports before starting CrossFit?

Yep. As I mentioned earlier I was a member of F3Nation. Bootcamp style workouts. 

 

9) Do you have anything to say to someone who’s intimidated to start taking CrossFit Classes?

 Just show up and take that first class. I was really intimidated at first but the Coaches and members welcomed me right in.  Crossfit is really for anyone at any fitness level that is looking to get in the best shape of their life.  Let fitness be the magnet that brings you in the door and then your fellow crossfitter's and coaches @ CFIV will keep you coming back.  To truly get the best results we need to be coached and pushed (IRON sharpens IRON) and no box does it better than CFIV. The workout will not get easier but  I guarantee you will become stronger. 

 

10) What’s your favorite kind of music?

I love everything from 90's rap to country. Just depends on what mood I am in.
