3 sets of 5
Kettlebell Swings (70/53)
Starting the week off with a two part workout. Athletes will complete 3 working sets of 5 repetitions, taking a few warmup sets before. They have the option to use the same challenging weight across or build in load. The goal here is to move heavy loads and move exceptionally well.
In part 2, we’ll get after a CompTrain Class benchmark workout in “Freddy Krueger.” The goal here is to choose a challenging kettlebell weight, something heavier than we’re accustomed to, but also something that can be completed unbroken. Getting just outside the comfort zone and pushing for unbroken sets is the goal on the kettlebell. This will allow athletes to not stop moving throughout the workout.
Burpees are regular burpees, requiring full extension and a small clap overhead.
## THE WHY
We name daily workouts because it is a fun way to attach a feeling to them and create a straightforward point of reference. Saying “We did Freddy Krueger today” or asking “Have you tried Death Race?” is easier and more meaningful than listing the exercises and rep schemes. These names also make it simple to repeat them in the future. Going back to compare scores, you can refer to the name and not just the movements.
